Our Standards
All calculator tools and supporting content on DolWise are created with accuracy, clarity, and honesty as primary goals. This policy explains how we create and maintain our content.
Calculator Development
- All calculations use standard, publicly documented financial formulas.
- Each formula is referenced on the tool page and in our Methodology page.
- Calculators are tested against known examples — default values, edge cases (zero, very large, negative), and boundary conditions (0% interest, 100% down payment) — before publication.
- We do not alter calculator results to favor any product, company, or outcome.
Content Creation
- Supporting articles and guides are written to explain financial concepts in plain English.
- We cite authoritative sources (CFPB, Federal Reserve, Freddie Mac, Department of Labor).
- Content is reviewed for clarity and functional accuracy.
- This content has not been reviewed by a licensed financial, tax, legal, insurance, or medical professional.
Updates & Corrections
- Each calculator page displays its last update date.
- Illustrative rates and assumptions are reviewed periodically.
- If we find or are notified of an error, we correct it promptly. Corrections are noted on the relevant page.
- To report an error, visit our Contact page.
Independence
- We do not accept payment to modify calculator results, feature specific products, or suppress information.
- Advertising and affiliate relationships are clearly disclosed.
- Calculator methodologies are not influenced by advertisers or partners.
What We Don't Do
- We do not fabricate credentials, experts, data, or sources.
- We do not publish content we know to be inaccurate.
- We do not present estimates as financial advice or guarantees.
